The mission

We are looking for a Presales Engineer to join our team. His/her goal will be to provide expert technical guidance and build trust to our future clients throughout the sales process, helping Caravelo to align technical solutions with business needs, current projects and future developments.

As a presales engineer, your mission will be to understand the technical needs of the prospects (mainly airlines) and help them understand how our travel subscription solutions can fulfill their needs. You will collaborate closely with all the most important areas of the company, including but not limited to sales, product, delivery, and customer success

To complete this mission, successful candidates need a diverse set of cross-domain skills that will include: In particular, you should be familiar with travel distribution, e-commerce solutions, integrations and APIs. You must demonstrate project management experience to manage complex implementations and collaborate with cross-functional teams effectively. Strong sales and communication skills are essential to understand customer requirements and articulate technical solutions. In addition, we expect you to maintain a continuous learning mindset to stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies, ensuring you deliver cutting-edge solutions to prospective customers.


In 1 Month

  • Meet the team, and engage with all key departments.

  • Gain a high-level understanding of our business.

  • Scoping sessions to uncover special needs or challenges.

  • Attend product training sessions to understand the platform's features, functionalities, and technical capabilities.

  • Shadow the sales team during customer interactions, demonstrations, and presentations.

In 3 Months

  • Understanding of the optimal way for Caravelo and the client to integrate.

  • List of key integration elements and all possible variants based on clients' systems and setups.

  • Input and improve the current guidelines, checklists, diagrams, etc.

In 6 months

  • Able to take on small and medium-sized deals independently, driving the prospect through our sales process alongside the sales executive.

  • Able to influence and make recommendations on the Product Strategy and Sales Strategy.

  • Clear understanding of the capabilities and limitations of our products, as well as our roadmap and what is coming next.

  • Map our customer needs into product requirements and input those into the Product Strategy. Making recommendations on the best setup for every customer. Clear understanding of client needs and advice on the best possible setup/solution.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Present our Platform and Technology to a non-tech-savvy audience in friendly terms. Become the go-to person in case of technical doubts during the sales process.

  • Support prospect customers' technical assessment through IT discovery meetings being able to explain the platform limitations, boundaries, and main use cases from the technical perspective.

  • Act as a solution architect recommending the modules and setup that better fits customers’ constraints.

  • Support sales executives by narrowing down the SOW while managing future clients' expectations in terms of effort, timings, and deliveries.

  • Assist in crafting detailed and accurate responses to RFPs and RFIs from airlines Ensure that the responses address all technical aspects comprehensively.

  • Influence the schedule and prioritization of deliveries to meet project scope and company or team objectives.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation and resources that support the sales process. This could include technical specifications, integration guides, and use-case-specific materials.

  • Engage with CSMs and clients to drive alignment on product operations.

  • Handover to Product Support and CSM any relevant information about the rollout setup.

  • Advocate for optimizing our products and services on behalf of our clients, users and for the benefit of Caravelo team and platform.

  • Support Product Delivery and Operations Departments to establish best practices in future onboardings. 

Required skills and experience
  • 3-5 years of work experience in presales, or in a technical role, such as Software Development or IT Project Management 

  • At least 2 years of experience in the travel industry and/or key systems providers (Reservations, Distribution, etc), as well as travel ecommerce solutions, is a plus

  • Proven ability to manage projects and deliver solutions on time.

  • Can effectively present ideas and communicate to a variety of internal and external audiences.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for client interaction.

  • Can act as a liaison across teams.

  • Fluent in English (C1 - C2)

  • Flexibility to travel often and to be able to work remotely.

  • Ability to liaise with both C-level decision-makers and IT teams with the same aligned outcome
