Senior DevOps Engineer

The mission
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to facilitate internal development efforts and maintain services reliability for Caravelo SaaS products:

  • By implementing processes/pipelines, automating processes, participating in, establishing a releases policy, environment harmonisation  
  • With the final goal of helping the company speed up and scale up SaaS delivery to clients and ulterior SLA compliance. 
This role will directly report to the Director of Engineering.
Duties and responsibilities
  • Configuration and infrastructure management with tools like Terraform, Rundeck, Ansible
  • Executing and troubleshooting SaaS application deployment procedures
  • Development of and continual improvement of automation and procedures
  • Creating, Analysing and maintaining infrastructure in AWS (ECS, EC2, Cloudwatch, RDS)
  • Oversee system monitoring solutions
  • Collaborate with product owners, developers, and support staff to ensure continuous and reliable delivery of service
  • Dive into the Cybersecurity standards of the company
  • Optimize, maintain and implement new pipelines
  • Stay abreast of new technologies in the field (AWS, Quality Assurance, containers, scalability) and provide recommendations to organizational management on new solutions
  • Work on automation processes that helps us scale up, speed up deployments and achieve time/cost savings
  • Oversee processes designed to measure system effectiveness and identify areas for improvement
  • Create processes intended to provide environment security, as well as automated processes to provide information on current specifications
Required skills and experience
  • Experience in networking and Unix system administration
  • Experience designing and maintaining high available and scalable physical architectures
  • Experience with DevOps automation toolchains (testing, deployment pipelines, monitoring, etc.)
  • Experience with AWS cloud services
  • Bias towards a continuous delivery culture mindset
  • Knowledge of infrastructure as a code and provisioning tools
  • Knowledge of OS virtualization technologies, like Docker
  • Knowledge of cloud-native technologies and trends
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, English proficiency is required.
  • Ability to work independently
